Rugby Tournament in St. George

We went to St. George for the weekend where my son played in Rugby tournaments all day Friday and Saturday. It was a beautiful sunny day in St. George. Who would have ever guessed that early that morning we were shoveling a foot and a half of snow out of the driveway, only to drive 4 hours south to sunshine.

He played such a great game Friday that we didn’t know he’d injured himself til we saw him again Saturday and ended up in the insta-care getting x-rays on his wrist. The good news is that his wrist isn’t broken. There’s just some bruising and he’ll have to wear a brace until he can use it again. That’s his first injury in 4 years. Hopefully his last.

I did work on some hand stitching on the drive down. I’ll show that later on.I’ve been working on using the new trims that we have in the warehouse for Riley Blake Designs. I came up with a new pattern and used the pom poms as trim for the bottom of this cute skirt. They looked so adorable on my nieces. We did a photo shoot and the skirts were absolutely darling. It was the highlight of their weekend to be able to pose for the camera. I’m still deciding on which photo to use for the pattern cover. I’ll show you when I’ve made my decision.

Here they are close up and we have so many fun colors to choose from.

I used our fabric line called Bloom and grow by My Mind’s Eye and as you can see the colors are fun to work with.

This skirt has a cute little flower brooch that has instructions included in the pattern on how to make. This skirt will be called the Bella Skirt.
