quilts for Haiti

Katie from an organization called Helping Hands came and spoke to our group last night at “That Alpine Quilt Group.” We knew she was coming and organized to have these blankets made for the people of Haiti when she goes to visit in a few weeks. We had over 50 blankets that we were able to donate to her organization. That’s why I love my group so much. They always come to the rescue when there is a need.

Katie also issued another challenge. She is headed to Peru to pick up her daughter from serving a mission and is taking a suitcase filled with white shirts and ties (things we would send to DI or throw out) We are going to see if we can fill her suitcase for her to take back to Peru.
The following are quilts that were show and tell from quilt group last night. This quilt is a Bunny Hill Design. She did a great job of coordinating the colors for this quilt.

Laurel has been collecting Kaffe Fausett prints for a while and finally put them together this fun colorful quilt.

How cute is this purse. Kim made it at a class at the American Quilting Retreat. I think it is fabulous.

This quilt is beautifully sewn and pieced. The colors work really well together and I like her light and dark combinations.

Look how cute this snowman quilt is. She took a Christmas tree skirt pattern and combined them to make this large quilt.

This darling baby quilt with the eyelet ruffle is so sweet and simple. She said she has made several with a gathered ruffle but decided this time, to save some time, and put gathered eyelet instead.
