Sewing Retreat

Every year the Village Dry Goods Quilting Store sponsors a trunk show and classes. I like to attend the trunk show and dinner at Maddox with my quilting friends. This year Sue Garman was to be the speaker and couldn’t attend because her husband has been diagnosed with cancer. A friend came instead and did a fabulous job of showing the quilts and explaining the expertise behind her fabulous handwork.

The following are quilts from some of the ladies at Village Dry Goods and Sue.

This Christmas Quilt of Sue’s is spectacular and each sashing block is different.
Her eye for detail is evident .
Everything is stitched by hand and so neat and tidy.

This is the border to the ship quilt which was my favorite.

Each block is a different ship with the flowers that represent the ships port.

Isn’t this just incredible?

After our fun filled night of looking at Sue Garmen’s Quilts we headed up to Park City where Cindy has a cabin. We stayed up until 4:30 in the morning sewing our little hearts out. We had 4 hours of sleep then headed up the mountain for a hike and back for breakfast. Yummy egg and veggie burritos and then more hours of sewing. We accomplished so much we’ve decided we need to do this quarterly.
This is the view out the back window of the cabin toward Park City. It’s breathtaking. We had such a great time.
