May 19, 2010 Setting up for Quilt Market

Well here we are and look what greeted us! We have 4 crates for Riley Blake Designs and Brian welcomes us all with a thumbs up that everything is here. I think we’re good to start setting up.

And look there’s Randy with his big smile ready to roll up his sleeves and get to work.

There’s Matt. We’re all running to try and keep up with him. He’s a whirlwind and we’ll have this set up in no time at all.
Look at everyone working so hard to put the floor together. This floor helps save our feet from falling off at the end of a busy day.
Oh, and look who is across from us. It’s Pie Plate Patterns. Bonnie is busy putting something together and the truth be known we just like being across from them because they have the best homemade caramels in the world. This time we brought our famous Riley Blake Designs chocolates. They’re the best. We’ll use our chocolates to barter for caramels. If you have ever tasted Kara Chocolates, they’re yummy!

Oh, and look again. I see The Quilted Fish. These are the funnest ladies ever and if you look real close you’ll see their friend that is traveling with them and is hidden in this picture. We’ll use our chocolates to barter for swedish fish here.

There go the towers. Look at all those busy worker bees.
The towers are up. These are where the artists will be featured.
These are the fabric walls. We have featured 3 lines of fabric and we have used all the polka dots from each line to stretch across steel panels to create fabric walls. The rest of the fabric lines are going to be on the back towers.

These are the fabric walls going up and they are looking great!
More walls and we are getting real close to being kicked out. It’s already 8:20 pm and they close at 8 pm so we are being told to get out. We’re so close to getting the foundation of our booth up.

Well this is as far as we got before getting kicked out. We’ll begin again in the morning. To all my friends who are following this post for Quilt Market, I hope you enjoy the journey along with me at Spring International Quilt Market 2010 straight from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

  1. Missing my workout buddy already. The treadmill is NOT as fun as working out with Jina!! Have a ton of fun in Minnesota friends:)

  2. Hi Jina –

Thanks for blogging about your Quilt Market activities!

As a vendor at Quilt Market, I do not always get out and look at all the beautiful booths so thanks for sharing!!

That's pretty cool you let your readers know what went on!!
