First Day of Spring

Well I hear it’s the first day of spring.( yesterday technically but I was too busy working to enjoy until today) It was a beautiful day here today and I went for a walk to enjoy the sunshine. It’s so fun to see the first signs of spring with the little green shoots springing up every where. I walked through my garden to say hi to all the little blooms that I can see poking their heads through the dirt. It makes me happy.

I designed this pin cushion as a class that I taught at the warehouse for Riley Blake Designs. I used our new fabric Andrea Victoria. I shared the idea with our store owners hoping to give them some fun ideas that they can use as mini classes for their stores.
I also invited the Quilted Fish who taught a very fun notebook cover, Mary’s cottage Quilts who taught a table runner that is posted on our Cutting Corners College on our Riley Blake Designs home page, and also Doohikey Designs who did a hot pad demonstration. It was very successful and I think everyone had fun.

This is our new fabric Rainy Days and Mondays by Melimba and Beccabury. It is such a fun fabric to work with and makes me happy to see it this time of year. The colors turned our cheery and delightful and the fabric is flying out the door. The pattern for this quilt is from the free quilt project patterns that I design for Riley Blake Designs and can be downloaded from our web site under Quilt Projects.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week and that we stop to see the small blossoms peeking their way through the dreary grass and tree limbs. Go for a walk and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
