Riley Blake Designs was invited to participate in the Norsk Quilte Festival.
We had a day before the event and after the event that I will share here.
Our first stop was this glass factory that was very interesting…
I will never take for granted the workmanship in one glass. First the glass is blown into its shape.
Then the top is cut off.
Each piece carefully finished into the perfect shape.
The left over tops that are cut off are melted down again.
And there you have the perfect wine glass…

Note the grass on the roof tops as insulation from the cold…the goats keep it trimmed…
We ate at this beautiful restaurant…
Annette came dressed in her grandmothers costume. These are called Bunad and are handed down from generation to generation or made for you by someone very special. They wear them once a year in celebration of their heritage. It’s a beautiful tradition. The Bunad has metal on the bottom to weight it down. The embroidery and workmanship are exquisite.
Cindy and I walked miles in Europe over the last 2 weeks in these shoes..

They treated us like royalty…it was an incredible quilting conference with women from around the world who came together to learn and share about quilting…

We visited Vigeland Sculpture Park (Frogner Park), Oslo Norway,
Frogner Park (Frognerparken) is a public park located in the borough of Frogner in Oslo, Norway.
The park contains the world famous Vigeland Sculpture Park (Vigelandsanlegget) designed by Gustav Vigeland.
The park is the largest park in the city and covers 32 hectares.

An incredibly charming place…I shared photos from my classes that I taught on instagram…the women are incredibly talented and many finished their projects and shared their projects on instagram…check out the Norsk Quilte Festival here and on facebook.
It was inspiring to be with such enthusiastic and talented women.

Thank you, thank you Jina for all the lovely pictures of Norway. To be able to 'see' a place you will probably never be able to visit is especially a real treat. I'm so glad you all had a chance to experience this trip and have a special time there.
