Christmas has come and gone and I look forward to a new year! 2010 is going to be great! This is a look out my kitchen window to the place that I love to sit during the summer and soak up the sun having breakfast or a barbecue . Now I just look outside and feel cold, although, I do admit it is beautiful. I love to be inside during the winter and sew til my hearts content.
This was a fun little project that I made several of for Quilt Market 2009 in Houston and then decided they’d make great Christmas gifts. This is the kind of cake I’ll be enjoying this year. No calories!

A beautiful notebook that my mother gave me to do my sketching and write my ideas in.

The following are images of some of my favorite handmade ornaments from years gone by that still mean so much to me. They are displayed on the family tree in the living room.
These are fussy cut snowmen from our Riley Blake Designs “Be Merry” fabric line. I fussy cut the pictures and sewed around the edges onto a piece of card stock, punched a hole in the corner and wrote a little message on the back. They were the finishing touch to Christmas gifts.
The angel I made many moons ago and I still think she’s cute. The Christmas tree skirt is the buggy barn pattern from years ago that I still love to put under my family tree.
My very talented friend Paula McKinley made this ornament for me years ago and it reminds me of her every time I hang it on my Christmas Tree.
This cute little hand stitched stocking I found for each one of my children while traveling in Amish Country a couple of years ago. Each year the children get a new ornament. They have their own collection so that when they move out they’ll be reminded of the Christmas’s at home. At least that was the idea. I have to say they were much more enthused about picking ornaments and appreciating them when they were little. I can’t figure out why teenagers aren’t that thrilled about Christmas ornaments. Ha Ha Ha
