Baby Jacket

I’m always on the lookout for cute warm sweats for my grand babies. I found these cute fleece lined hot pink sweats at Walmart. Of course they aren’t cute until they are embellished.
I cut out 2 flowers, 4 leaves and a circle. I used heat and bond to adhere these fabric shapes to the back of this sweatshirt. With green thread on my machine I did a straight stitch to create the stem for the flower. Then I sewed around the raw edge of each fabric design. I made a cross shape through all layers of the flowers and circle.
The finishing touch was a button sewn to the center of each flower.

I cut out circles for the pants pocket and front of the jacket. I sewed across each circle on a diagonal creating a cross. Sewed a button to the center of each 3 circles and wah lah!!! I was finished.

This can be done to any little clothing item to help give it that homemade look.

I am headed to Ruby’s Inn to teach for the next few days. I will be posting all the tutorials for my baby couture class. I will also post pictures of the fun ladies I will be spending time with.
Happy Sewing!
