Word has gotten back to me that people could not comment on my blog. After several attempts to solve this issue, I just decided it was time for a fresh new look. It is, as always still in development. But in the mean time, let me know what you think. Let’s test out the comment section!
Testing…testing…1…2….3…. Seems the comment thing is fixed!
Congrats! It is so nice to be able to comment on your lovely blog! See you again real soon.
Love your block of the month
Hi Jina,
I saw the BOM project you've designed for That Alpine Quilt Group (linked over from Freda's Hive), and I REALLY like it a lot!! I'm not tooooo far behind yet, so I'm thinking about jumping in.
I found where you have the monthly block instructions written up, but I'm wondering if there's a main/intro page? I'd like some idea of how big the finished quilt will be, and then I can guesstimate yardage. I love to work scrappy, but I don't have any idea how much to anticipate for this project. Also, are there going to be twelve different kinds of blocks in all, or less plus borders/finishing for one of the months? (Again, trying to develop a fabric plan.)
Thanks ~ Jeanne
Jeanne I'm so glad you are joining us in the BOM and no I do not have an intro page because when I presented it to my group I reserved the right to make a book in the future. As we get further into the months with this project you will see that there are up to 8 blocks in one month. You will probably want to get about 3 yards if you are using one background. If you are going scrappy I suggest getting fat quarters as you go along.(start with about 30 or 40 fat quarters) The quilt is approximately a king size finished with the fabric scraps used as the border. With out this scrappy border it is probably a queen size.
How to get the cute little puppy applique pattern to make a quilt???
