Riley Blake Designs sponsored the Fabric challenge for the HMQS show in Salt Lake City. We used “Sublime” designed by Doohikey Designs. Each contestant was to use a significant amount of 10 fabrics that we chose and 3 of their own if they wanted to.
This is a quilt I designed for Riley Blake Designs Eye Candy book and the HMQS show used it for one of their displays for the show. The pattern in the book is called “Bodacious Baskets”
The quilts that were entered into the contest were beautiful and were so hard to judge. The quilts were auctioned off by a live auctioneer and the money that was raised was donated to “PJ’s Forgotten Children” They received about $5,000 for their non profit organization.
The following are only a few of my favorite quilts. There were many so I only picked a few.
The quilting on these quilts and the workmanship was just extraordinary.
Don’t you just love this giraffe. I think he is fabulous!
This caribou is one of my favorites and the designer of sublime, Shari Butler, bought it at the auction. She loved it so much and just had to have it. We used it in our booth at quilt market in Minnesota to showcase Sublime.
Look at this incredible dragon reading. There was quite a bit of bidding for this quilt and I think it went for around $850.00. There were many who wanted it. It is an amazing quilt.
How fabulous!!
Just wonderful! So much talent!!!
